July 2007 Restaurant Reporter
"True to its name, BACKSTREET WINE SALON is a tough find in the back of an aging strip mall. But if its popularity with local foodies and wine lovers is any indication, its well worth a visit. Owner and sommelier Jock Wulffson stocks many wines from smaller producers and is always quick with an opinion. Theres a retail wine shop on the premises and diners can choose wine from the shop for a minimal markup. In a cozy space that feels more like a home than a restaurant, chef Patrice Barry serves hearty bistro favorites."

"Although Jock Wulffson (the owner and resident wine geek) has forgotten more about wine than most of us will ever know, both his list and his attitude are low-key and unpretentious."
